Austin, San Marcos, TX Press Releases
(Austin.CityRegions.Com, December 11, 2015 ) Austin, Texas -- Founder of UberCurl, curly hair beauty products brand, shares experience on how she learned to care and embrace her curly hair.
Mildred remembers the exact moment she changed her attitude towards her curly hair. It all started when she look through some of her pregnancy pictures. In looking through them, what stood out the most was that her hair looked healthier, shinier and longer than ever before. At that moment she wondered what she had done right, and how she could further improve this. That is when her journey began. "I had changed my diet! I realized" she said. "As I was pregnant, I was eating healthier, taking vitamins and drinking lots of water, so I kept that in place and next I found a curly hair routine that worked for me".
As everybody knows YouTube has become the main to-go-site for reference, people can find all kinds of content, from funny videos to instructional videos. "I was on maternity leave, enjoying motherhood, with a lot of time on my hands and I remember going to Youtube and watching funny videos, music videos, exercising tutorials, you name it; when the idea came to mind that there had to be curly hair care tutorials", explained UberCurl founder, Mildred.
These videos introduced Mildred to "The Curly Girl Method".
"Watching other girl's beautiful hair and the helpful tips they were giving inspired me to just let my hair BE and continue to enhance its beauty and health." said, Mildred.
Curly-haired Founder of UberCurl has become a "Curly Girl Method" advocate and shared with us the most important and effective tips that became part of her routine.
Tip #1 Cleanse curly hair with a sulfate-free shampoo (there are a variety of sulfate-free cleansing products in the market today).
Tip #2 Condition! Conditioner is a best friend for curly hair.
Tip #3 Detangle curly hair using fingers or a wide tooth comb while in the shower and do the last rinse with cold water to close the cuticle and lock in moisture.
Tip #4 Apply favorite curly hair product. One, Mildred, recommends is "Kinky-Curly Knot Today"
Tip #5 When drying curly or wavy hair, remember to use a hair towel of microfiber material to blot those curls. Do not rub as this will cause frizz.
Mildred hopes to encourage and inspire other curly girls to embrace their natural beauty by sharing her story and providing these tips she found successful in caring for her curls.
