(Austin.CityRegions.Com, December 21, 2015 ) Austin, TX -- She knew at once that the wooden baby rattle she picked out would be popular, now she knows just how popular. C1C2 Educational Toys Company co-founder Liz Seivert has seen sales of their traditional wooden baby rattle skyrocket in the month of December. "We have gotten really great feedback on them so far," says Seivert. "People love the quality and the simplicity. I think that's why they have been selling like hotcakes (or cronuts)!"
Recent years have seen an upsurge in parents moving away from high-tech, battery-operated toys to more simple and traditional toys made from natural materials. As one Amazon reviewer on the C1C2 Educational Toys' wooden rattle said, "My thing is kinda the 'back to basics' type gift so as not to get lost in the trendy themes and gizmos." Another stated, "Its nice to see someone going back to basics and making wooden toys that actually last." The wooden rattle has also been praised for it's aesthetic quality and the fact that, unlike many high-tech toys, it won't drive parents crazy with noisy music and beeping sounds.
"I think we are tapping into a real need here," says Seivert. "People want to simplify and buy quality instead of quantity when it comes to toys. They want to give something aesthetic and lasting and I feel our baby rattle fits the bill." When asked if she planned on expanding their wooden toy offerings for babies, Seivert said: "Since the wooden rattle has been so popular this holiday season so we definitely plan to expand our offerings of wooden toys for babies in 2016."
