Austin, San Marcos, TX Press Releases
|
(Austin.CityRegions.Com, April 22, 2016 ) Austin, Texas -- Company founder and blogger Lucinda Horn of Optimized Homes today released a series of simple basics on how to optimize space in a smaller or crowded home.
Following the worldwide release of their Collapsible Silicone Colander/Strainer, this series expands on the ideas developed by Ms Horn. The company's original release combined the safety of food-quality silicone, the sturdiness of polypropylene with the convenience and Space Saving of a collapsible kitchen goods product. Because a colander and a salad spinner take up an inordinate amount of room in a kitchen cabinet, she felt was important to make these items collapsible.
The company based in Austin, Texas, the fastest growing of the largest fifty US cities, is uniquely positioned to bring users the simplicity of high quality downsizing. There will be further products released to enhance the efficiency and esthetics of the home.
With 110-150 people moving to the Austin nearly every day, most of them young and apartment dwellers, the company realized the need for space saving products and ideas has grown tremendously. Most cities are experiencing similar growth issues as young people move to cities for jobs in the high tech arena and various startups. With mega condo and apartment buildings being built in Los Angeles, Toronto and Chicago to name just a few, living in small spaces is a growing issue and one that Optimized Homes is addressing.
Several bright ideas, or hacks as they're called include the clothes closet. Ms Horn says, "If someone has been frustrated with items being hard to find in a drawer, for instance, a bright idea is to take a folded Tshirt and file it upright so he or she can see at a glance what the drawer contains. This also reduces wrinkling from shirts being stacked on top of each other."
She said that another simple closet hack is the idea of double hanging bars. "Many people have these but don't utilize them well. The best way to organize hanging bars is to hang pants from the top bar and shirts from the bottom. The reason for this is that pants generally hang with a slimmer width than shirts and don't stick out so far. Thus, the shirts being on the bottom and wider makes everything easier to see."
Ms Horn said she will release more simple space saving ideas in the coming weeks.
